Boston Dynamics is a company that makes state-of-the-art robots and software for human simulation since 1992 where it began as a spin-off from the Massachusetts Institute of
Technology. Their latest work, PETMAN
PETMAN is an "anthropomorphic robot", that is used to test chemical protection clothing for the United States Army. The robot can move, walk, crawl, do push-ups and anything to strain the equipment. It can balance itself even after being shoved.
Also it is able to simulate the human physiology conditions of temperature, humidity and even sweat in the interior of the suit, all for the sake of realistic testing
Developing this program took 13 months for the design phase and 17 months for building, installing and testing, with
delivery of the robot taking place in 2011. The only problem is that instead of a head, PETMAN has only a lamp. Dont be fooled though it is far from brainless since it has plenty processors to deal with moving and balancing. Massive Dynamics takes us one step before The Terminator, oh sorry I meant Boston Dynamics...
