Magic Cube is an innovative keyboard made from the korean Celluon company that uses IR technology to map your keystrokes in 3D space.
This product projects a virtual keyboard in a non-reflective, opaque, flat surface. An invisible IR beam is projected right above the surface, and a sensor tells when this beam is interrupted and where (usually by a finger). Then the circuit translates the coordinates taken into the character of the corresponding key.
Celluon has also developed it's "mouse equivalent", the Evomouse. This little device that looks like a toy (but definately not cost as much) uses the same technology to track the finger that interrupts the IR beam and translate it in cursor movement, like a touchpad. It supports almost every operation done by conventional mice like backing, scrolling, double clicking and rotating.
The line separating those two devices is not that thick. Magic Cube can also track cursor movement and EvoMouse comes with a fixed QWERTY keymat which you can use to track keystrokes instead of cursor movement.
